It's a...

Well, the girls and I surprised Mike for Father's Day by giving him an envelope with the baby's gender in it. The Dr. has been doing routine ultrasounds on me to monitor the baby's growth. It is just precautionary after what happened with Molly (For those of you who don't know she stopped growing at 32 weeks and they had to induce). So, at the last ultrasound I had the tech put the gender in an envelope and DID NOT open it. Needless to say it's a ...
BOY! We are very excited and I am wondering how I am going to transition from being a mom of 2 girls to a boy. I'm sure I will be peed on numerous times a day.

I'm 32 weeks and counting. So far so good. Summer is going faster than I want it to but we are enjoying the girls, and having Mike home. It's a little strange that he doesn't have summer ball games to go to now or the field to prepare, etc. His banquet is Tuesday and I am sure I will be a little emotional. The players and parents have a lot of nice things planned for him.

The girls are great. Gabbie got her tonsils out about 10 days ago. She is a trooper. I think it will help and I already see an increase in her appetite. Molly is the same funny, defiant, sweetheart. Tonight I went in the bathroom and she had unrolled a whole roll of toilet paper. When I asked her why she needed that much TP she said, "I picked my nose and need toiwet paper for my finger."

Take care everyone!

25 Weeks and Counting!

I am 25 weeks pregnant now but look like I am 30. I guess that happens when it's your third. I am finally feeling the baby move more. Today it woke me up with several karate kicks. I never get tired of that feeling. The girls haven't been able to feel it yet but Mike has. Gabbie tells me I have a big butt and a big tummy. Her words motivate me to walk "the loop" as much as I can. I am thankful I feel good enough to walk 4 1/2 miles...I just need to do it more often. Molly also says my butt is big because she will repeat ANYTHING she hears. She will be in for a rude awakening when this baby is born. She's pretty possessive of mom.

At our last appointment the heart rate was 136. It's been anywhere from 160 to the 130's. The doctor will do another ultrasound at 28 weeks to make sure my placenta has moved away from the birth canal. If not....I'm not exactly sure what will happen, we only know that would be bad news.

Finally, here are some updated pics of the girls. They are growing so fast and we are having so much fun with them. We can tell it's baseball season because a few weeks ago I woke Gabbie up and she asked me "Who won the game?" She was still half asleep. So cute.

Family Update

Well, things are definitely crazy at our house. The girls are almost 4 and 2. It is amazing how quickly the time goes. On Sunday we took Gabbie to see The Lion King at the Wharton. She LOVED it! Mike and I had more fun watching her than the play. She was in awe of all the characters, animals, costumes, and was full of questions. We were thankful the play was after the State game. Jason Swain and the Takagishi's joined us for the afternoon to watch the Spartans. Jason also went to the play with us. It was a great time.
The girls share a room and it is fun to listen to them talk at night. Mike sounds like a true dad when he goes in their room and tries to discipline them. The line he uses the most is "Quit your fartin' around!" They play great together until Molly has had enough of getting bossed around. Some form of biting, scratching, hitting, or pushing takes place when that happens. On Saturday Molly clobbered Gabbie in the head with a toy phone. We love that they are spirited and feisty when necessary.

Gabbie loves preschool. She goes 2 mornings a week. We are amazed at how much she knows already. Sometimes she sounds like a little adult and last week she even announced to us that "she was a woman!"

Molly is now sleeping in a big girl bed. We can't believe it. She has spent two nights in her bed and likes this new freedom. At 5:15 this morning we heard her little footsteps on the wood floor. She found her way to our room and was wide awake! The verdict is still up on whether or not we made the right decision on whether or not to move her out of her crib. She repeats and mimics everything. I don't think there will be any potty training in the near future but we'll try this summer.

We had our 20 week ultrasound today. What a relief to find out everything is fine and the baby is healthy. We are right on target with size so my due date is still August 19th. The only slight concern is that my placenta is close to the birth canal. The Dr. said this should correct itself as the baby grows. So, we stick to our normal routine and things should work out fine. Sorry to all of you hopefuls out there who were hoping we would find out the sex of the baby...you'll have to wait with us. Mike was a good sport about it and I told him he could find out if he really needed to. He decided to be surprised with me! You're welcome to take the baby poll. We'd love to see what you think!
